Young people get creating for Carnival of Collective Joy

Many hands make light work!

Our school workshops are under way for The Carnival of Collective Joy 2023. Pupils from across County Carlow have been creating their own imaginative worlds and the characters that live in them.

This year, we're collaborating with pupils and staff at St Joseph's NS, Hacketstown, St.Fiacc’s N.S.Graiguecullen, Scoil Mhuire N.S., Tullow, and St. Patrick’s N.S. Rathvilly.

The young people have been creating these huge canvas with the help of the Carnival's Creative Director, Selene Murphy, and Assistant Creative Director, Susanne Kennedy Horsch. The Carnival will parade through the streets of Carlow town during our festival, on Saturday 10 June for Cruinniú na nÓg.

Thank you to Bank of Ireland and Business to Arts for their amazing support of this project in 2023!

The Carnival of Collective Joy
is part of ASSEMBLY, our year-round community engagement and participation programme. Carlow Arts Festival is principally funded by Arts Council Ireland and grant aided by Carlow County Council.
