Cycles: Wheels of Future

Cycles: Spokes

A collective storytelling event exploring possible presents, pasts and futures for Carlow.

As part of the launch of our festival, artists Michelle Browne and Eszter Némethi host Wheel of Futures, a collective storytelling event exploring possible presents, pasts and futures for Carlow.

Roll the wheel to help create a speculative, fictional map of the Carlow landscape.

Spokes

Spokes is a series of discussions and workshops about our sense of place within County Carlow. Spokes will host conversations on language, cycling, ecology and more.

Cycles

Spokes is part of Cycles, a community engagement project happening across Hacketstown, Rathvilly, Graiguecullen and Tullow, and led by artists Michelle Browne and Eszter Némethi. Cycles will culminate in a large outdoor cycling and performance event in September 2023.

Funded by ART:2023, a Decade of Centenaries programme

Presented by The Arts Council | An Chomhairle Ealaíon, in association with the Department of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media.

This project is created in partnership with Carlow Sports Partnership, Carlow County Council Arts Office, Carlow County Development Partnership, Carlow County Library, Carlow Museum and Carlow Environmental Network.
