The Philosophy of Love
Dr Noel Kavanagh
Talks
Returning to the festival for a second year is Dr Noel Kavanagh with another rousing, insightful, and lively lecture.
Noel is a lecturer in Philosophy at the Department of Arts and Humanities, Carlow College. He is a P4C/CPI practitioner and a
passionate advocate for public philosophy.
His primary area of interest is the concept of love in philosophy and culture, the human animal relationship and the interconnections between philosophy, psychoanalytic theory and psychotherapy.
In this lecture, Noel will take a funny, wry and off-centre look at our ideas of love in the world and its surprising origins. In 2024, Noel’s lecture was a sell-out event.
