Cycles: Spokes

A short film about local folktales and their historical context.

"A folktale is medicine of hope in the darkest of times"

Folktales surrounding an ancient sacred site, hold within them a turbulent and painful history.

In this short film directed by Nuala Dalton, members of Killoughternane Drama Group, County Carlow, recount excerpts from these local tales, and historians share the historical context through which they emerged.

Featuring Kevin Whelan, Dr Coleman Dennehy and John Stocks Powell.

Supported by Creative Ireland and Carlow County Council Arts.
