Rural Ireland. 1981. A quiet, neglected girl is sent away from her dysfunctional family to live with foster parents for the summer. She blossoms in their care, but in this house where there are meant to be no secrets, she discovers one.

Released in 2022 to widespread critical acclaim, An Cailín Ciúin ('The Quiet Girl') is the feature length debut of Dublin-based writer and director Colm Bairéad. The film was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards, and it quickly became the highest grossing Irish language film of all time.

Based on the novella Foster by Claire Keegan, this beautiful and compassionate film is a contemporary Irish masterpiece.
